Today’s Sam stories share a similar theme–unzip your lips and take control of your care and the future of Diabetes technology.

Read the PlanetDiabetes blog that has tips for People With Diabetes in hospital settings. Know when to insist and when to acquiesce. And when to pray :)

Also, today’s tech section has a few great links. Read about the GlucaPen, a great and perhaps impending improvement over the large, scary-needled Glucagon shot kit. Take a survey to help them develop an easier-to-use and less intimidating option in the near future.

And check out the “Innovative Design and Diabetes” post, where one person is setting out to rally a movement that insists on more innovative technologies for diabetics. Have any ideas? Let’s get together and work towards smarter, better treatments. Until there’s a cure, of course…SamDRC

Hi there, Sam the Stubborn Pancreas here. Welcome back to Sam’s Blog. We’ve got some very interesting links up today, and here are the highlights…

In the latest research news, learn how scientists may be closer to preventing neuropathy. Also, a new study looks at the link between coffee/caffeine consumption and cardiovascular disease. Smell something stinky? One study looks at the effects of “stinky egg gas” on Diabetes and vascular health. And is there a link between metabolic disorders such as Diabetes and cognitive disorders? Some say yes…

Are you a diabetic who has severe Hypoglycemia? If so, take the survey over at DiabetesMine, and help researchers develop an alternative to Glucagon and its scary-big needle.

And read some great blogs by real people. One parent feels slapped in the face by her child’s fever, and another parent of two Type 1 diabetics faces the reality that he may be Type 2–and he’s totally unconcerned because he’s totally informed…hmmm…does that make any sense?

And finally, why is Diabetes like improv comedy?

Check out the day’s news and tell us what you think!
